Specificity and cross-reactivity
Reacts with the Pta. A2 antigen which is present on the majority of peripheral T cells but only expressed at low levels in the thymus (probably by medullary thymocytes). The alloantigen is also known as Ag-F1, ART-2, RT-ly-2(5) and RT6 agreed at the 4th International Workshop on Alloantigenic Systems in the Rat, 1982. Positive on PVG, PVG-RT1a (DA), PVG-RT11 (AGUS), PVG-RT1u (AO) and PVG-R1-Negative on PVG-PtaDA rats.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
