Recognizes a 10kD band from short term culture of M. tuberculosis identified as the protein ESAT-6 (Rv3875) in Western Blot. Binds to an epitope consisting of the residues EQQWNFAGIEAAA at positions 3-15 (4). Species Crossreactivity: Mycobacterium kansasii, Mycobacterium szulgai, and Mycobacterium marinum. Reacts with PPD, culture filtrate, cytosol and cell wall preparations from M. tuberculosis.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
