Species reactivity
Bovine, Canine, Drosophila, Guinea Pig, Hamster, Human (Homo sapiens), Monkey, Mouse (Mus musculus), Porcine, Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Rat (Rattus norvegicus); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
This affinity purified antibody recognizes an epitope in the C-terminus of mouse TCP-1a (465-AKLRA) and will detect an ~60kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of TCP-1alpha on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from human, mouse, rat, bovine, canine, guinea pig, hamster, monkey, porcine and rabbit origins, as well as Saccharomyces cerevisiae (weakly, consistent with the epitope sequence being AKLRS), Drosophila, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and C. elegans. In C. elegans CTA-191 reacts with TCP-1a and another CCT subunit. In plants, CTA-191 recognizes TCP-1 of Pisum sativum and the sequence of Arabidopsis thalania TCP-1a over the region of the epitope AKLRA. It has also been shown that CTA-191 reacts with a subunit of a specialized chaperonin which folds phytochrome. Cross reactivity with human Hsp60 has been ; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
