Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
Species reactivity
Mouse (Mus musculus); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. This is against a protein of mus musculus directed antibody.
About
Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
Other names
integrin alpha-4; Integrin alpha-4; integrin alpha-4; integrin alpha-IV; LPAM subunit alpha; VLA-4 subunit alpha; VLA-4 receptor, alpha 4 subunit; CD49 antigen-like family member D; lymphocyte Peyer patch adhesion molecules subunit alpha; integrin alpha 4; CD49 antigen-like family member D; Integrin alpha-IV; Lymphocyte Peyer patch adhesion molecules subunit alpha; LPAM subunit alpha; VLA-4 subunit alpha
Storage and shipping
Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short-term storage and at -20 degrees Celsius for long-term. the antibody should be stored undiluted. Repeated freeze - thaw cycles may denature the peptide chains of the antibody and therefore should be maximally avoided. If there is a precipitate in the vial we recommend you to briefly microcentrifugate it prior to use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of dispatch.
Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
CD49d This item recognises murine alpha 4 integrin (CD49d), a 150kD glycoprotein that can associate with either beta 1 integrin (CD29) or beta 7 integrin to form heterodimers CD49d/CD29 (VLA-4) and alpha4/beta7 (LPAM-1) respectively. CD49d is expressed on most lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes and thymocytes. The primary ligands for CD49d are CD106 (VCAM-1), fibronectin and MAdCAM-1. Clone PS/2 has also been reported to block the binding of CD49d to its ligands; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
