It is produced chiefly by activated macrophages, although it can be produced by many other cell types such as CD4+ lymphocytes, NK cells, neutrophils, mast cells, eosinophils, and neurons. TNFb or TNF beta also bin on TNF receptors for Th1 activation.

TNF ALPHA This item is specific for mouse tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha), also known as TNFSF2. This 17kDa cytokine is produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, NK cells and CD4+ T cells. TNF alpha forms dimers and trimers, and is also found as a 26kDa integral membrane protein. Mouse TNF alpha has cytolytic activity against many tumour cell lines, and has an important immunoregulatory role.
