Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.

Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.

Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short-term storage and at -20 degrees Celsius for long-term.Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. the antibody should be stored undiluted. Repeated freeze - thaw cycles may denature the peptide chains of the antibody and therefore should be maximally avoided. CD279 This item recognises mouse CD279, a 55kD cell surface protein which is a member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family, otherwise known as Programmed Death-1 (PD-1). CD279 is expressed predominantly on activated T- and B- lymphocytes and on a subset of thymocytes. _x000D__x000D_Studies suggest that CD279, an immunoinhibitory receptor, plays a critical role in peripheral tolerance induction and prevention of autoimmune disease. Two members of the B7 family, B7-H1 (PD-L1) and B7-DC (PD-L2), have been identified as the ligands for CD279. _x000D__x000D_Antibodies produced by clone RMP1-30 do not block the binding of both B7-H1-Ig and B7-DC-Ig fusion proteins to PD-1 transfected BHK cells.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
