CD28 This item recognises murine CD28, a 90 kD member of the immunoglobulin superfamily that is structurally related to CD152 (CTLA-4). CD28 is a major costimulatory molecule, which is expressed by most T cells including thymocyte subsets and peripheral T-cells but is absent on a subset of CD8+ve cells. Engagement of CD28 by its natural ligand, CD80 or CD86, provides a costimulatory signal which promotes T-cell effector function and T-cell-dependent antibody production. _x000D__x000D_This item is reported to act as a CD28 superagonist antibody, which induces antigen-independent T cell proliferation.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited.
