PLASMINOGEN This item recognises human plasminogen, a single chain beta globulin of 80-90kDa. It is a circulating zymogen that is converted to the active enzyme plasmin (fibrinolysin) by plasminogen activators. The main function of plasmin is to dissolve fibrin and thus break up blood clots.
