CD120a This item specifically recognises both the 60kDa cell surface and soluble fragment of human CD120a, otherwise known as TNF receptor type I (TNFR1/sTNFR1), a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily, which plays a key role in regulating the inflammatory response, acting as a receptor for tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and lymphotoxin-alpha (TNF-beta). _x000D__x000D_CD120a also plays a role in apoptosis, cytokine induction, cell differentiation, tumour necrosis and early stages of graft-versus-host disease, and its soluble form sTNFR1, acts as an inhibitor of TNF-alpha induced responses by acting as a decoy receptor. _x000D__x000D__x000D_Clone H398 completely inhibits functional activity via CD120a by inhibiting receptor signalling, but does not always inhibit ligand binding of TNF.
