CD50 Recognises the human CD50 cell surface glycoprotein, a 110kD molecule also known as ICAM-3. CD50 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, containing five immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and is a ligand for LFA-1. CD50 is expressed by a wide range of leucocytes. It plays a role in leucocyte adhesion and also acts as a signaling and costimulatory molecule on T lymphocytes. Clone MEM-171 recognises an epitope in the D2 domain of human CD50. This clone is reported to partially inhibit CD43 induced apoptosis of TF-1 cells; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited.
