This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.

CD71 This item recognises human soluble CD71 (also known as transferrin receptor, or TfR). CD71 is a homodimeric membrane protein, approximately 90kDa in size. It is responsible for the uptake of iron into the cell, by binding to and internalising iron-bound transferrin (ferrotransferrin). After the iron is released into the cell, the apotransferrin is relocated to the cell surface and released into the circulation. When CD71 is cleaved at Arg-100, a soluble (or serum) form of the protein is released. The level of soluble CD71 is used to detect erythropoietin misuse by athletes.
