                                Species reactivity
N/A; Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.

                                Gene
Human or mouse Leptin (from Greek λεπτός leptos, "thin") the "satiety hormone", is a hormone made by adipose cells that helps to regulate energy balance by inhibiting hunger. Leptin is opposed by the actions of the hormone ghrelin, the "hunger hormone". Both hormones act on receptors in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus to regulate appetite to achieve energy homeostasis. ELISA kits and peptides and antibodies are available.

                                Specificity and cross-reactivity
Leptin, carboxyl terminal (residues 131-145) Human Leptin. Binds to the carboxyl terminal region of the protein and to the intact leptin specifically in ELISA, Western blot and immunocytochemistry. Crossreactivity: Leptin (Human) - 100% Leptin (1; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
