Specificity and cross-reactivity
This antibody detects 80-82kDa* proteins corresponding to the molecular mass of PKCa, PKCb, and PKCg on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of neonatal rat brain lysates. Similar results were observed in human and mouse lysates. Immunoprecipitation experiments with various PKC isoforms demonstrated this antibody detects PKCa, PKCb, and PKCg, but not other PKC isoforms expressed in rat brain lysate.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
