The 45M1 antibody is directed against human mucin 5AC and has been reported to cross-react with avian, mouse, rat, hamster, guinea-pig, porcine, and canine mucin 5AC. The 45M1 antibody is reported to react specifically with an epitope located in the N-terminal region of the C-terminal cysteine-rich part of MUC5AC. ; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited.
