Specificity and cross-reactivity
This only reacts with the high molecular weight form of the leucocyte common antigen (3) which is the rat homologue of a similar antigen described in man (CD45R) (4). The antigen is found on B cells, approximately 50% of bone marrow cells, a few percent of thymocytes, all CD8 and T cells, but splits CD4 and T cells into two populations differing in their helper activities. ; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
