Specificity and cross-reactivity
Recognizes human p53, specifically binding only to p53 phosphorylated at the Ser392 residue. Ser392 phosphorylation of p53 has been shown to occur following DNA damage. Phosphorylation of p53 at this site may be mediated the casein kinase 2 (CK2) and also be other phosphorylation mechanisms. In Immunohistochemistry this antibody generally stains 5-10% of cells labelled with antibodies specific for non-phosphorylated p53.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
