Specificity and cross-reactivity
HSV Type 2 by Western blot. Produces a positive reaction with HSV-2 strain G infected Vero cells but not HSV-1 infected cells. Western blot assays revealed that this glycoprotein is highly processed and several antigenically related protein bands of gG-2 were detected.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
Storage and shipping
Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short term storage.. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius. or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
