This antibody recognizes the structurally related amino acid sequence epitopes … PISRP… and ….PITKP that occur in the two proteoglycan tandem repeat motifs of cartilage LP. This antibody can be used to detect intact LP 1,2 & 3 as well as a large number of smaller fragments that are generated through proteolytic cleavage during LP catabolism. It recognizes LP in all animal species from chicken to humans.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
