Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
Species reactivity
Human (Homo sapiens); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
About
Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
The TNFa antibody recognize 17 kDa of human TNFa by ELISA and Western blot. The positive control is the human TNFa recombinant protein. The other species are not tested.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
Other names
TNF-alpha; Tumor necrosis factor; tumor necrosis factor; TNF-a; cachectin; APC1 protein; OTTHUMP00000029281; TNF, monocyte-derived; TNF, macrophage-derived; TNF superfamily, member 2; tumor necrosis factor alpha; tumor necrosis factor-alpha; tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 2; tumor necrosis factor; Cachectin; TNF-alpha; Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 2
Storage and shipping
The antibodies are stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius. to -70 degree C. Upon initial thawing, apportion into working aliquots and store at -70 degree C for up to six months. The antibodies can be stored at 2 degree C-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freezing-thawing cycles.
