Species reactivity
Human (Homo sapiens); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
About
Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
Storage and shipping
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.1 mg purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.0; Store the antibody ats should be kept in the range of 1-7 degrees Celsius.. Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.
Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.Human and some mouse caspases are active in apoptosis and cell death and even in necrosis and inflammation. CASP Gene and orthologous enzymes have been identifies successfully in the signal transduction cascade and pathways.
Properties
Human proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
Reacts with human Caspase 81 The Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that induce apoptosis in response to a variety of intraand extracellular stimuli. These enzymes are synthesized as inactive precursors which become cleaved at aspartate-specific sites upon induction of apoptosis. Caspase 8 (MACH/FLICE/Mch5) is a cytosolic protease that is capable of processing/activating all known caspases, indicating its presence early in the apoptotic cascade3. It mediates cell death induction by receptors of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) family to eliminate injured cells and maintain leukocyte homeostasis4,5. Moreover, studies have suggested it regulates Fas-induced cytotoxicity and may have a non-apoptotic role in macrophage differentiation6,7. The SB125a monoclonal antibody detects a band at ~55kD, corresponding to the full length form of Caspase 8; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
