This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.

Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.

Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.

alpha M subunit (Mr 170 kDa) of the CD11b/CD18 heterodimer CD11b, the integrin alpha M subunit, combines with CD18, the integrin beta 2 subunit, to form the integrin Mac-1, also known as complement receptor 3 (CR3), which mediates adhesion to C3bi and ICAM-1/CD54.^2, 3 Mac-1 is expressed at varying levels on granulocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, NK cells, and B-1 cells in the peritoneal and pleural cavities. ^2-8 Mac-1 expression is rapidly up-regulated on neutrophils after activation and in the same time period that CD62L is shed from the cell surface. In addition to its role in binding C3bi on opsonized targets and mediation of the subsequent ingestion process, Mac-1 is important as an adhesion molecule in the transendothelial migration of monocytes and neutrophils.^4, 9, 10 Cross-reaction of M1/70 to human CD11b has been observed on monocytes, polymorphonuclear leukocytes, and NK cells.^4, 8; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added.
