This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.

Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.

Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.

Common beta 2 subunit (Mr 95 kDa) of the LFA-1 integrin complex CD18 represents the common beta 2 integrin subunit that associates non-covalently with the alpha beta chains of CD11a/LFA-1a, CD11b/Mac-1, and CD11c to form various integrin heterodimers. It is expressed strongly on lymphocytes and monocytes, and weakly on granulocytes, CD18 mediates a variety of heterotypic and homotypic intercellular adhesion reactions, and it regulates the ligand-binding activities of the various CD11/CD18 complexes. MAb C71/16 has not been reported to inhibit cell adhesion.^1-4; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added.
