Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.

Mouse NK1.1 alloantigen, Mr 80-85 kDa (39 kDa under reducing conditions) NK1.1, a member of the NKR-P1 family of cell surface receptors, is a type II integral membrane glycoprotein with a C-type lectin domain. It is expressed as a disulfide-linked homodimer on all NK cells, as well as subsets of thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes in selected strains of mice (e.g., C57BL, NZB).1-4, 10 NK1.1 mediates cellular activation and differentiation, and is thought to have a particular role in generating Th2 cells. This product does not react with NK cells of BALB/c mice.5-9; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added.
