Species reactivity
Human (Homo sapiens), Mouse (Mus musculus); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
Storage and shipping
Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short term storage.. For long-term storage, For optimal long term storage, the antibody should be kept at -20 degrees Celsius. Stable for at least 12 months the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. Prior to use, briefly centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before lid. If further dilution(s) are needed, they can be done with the appropriate assay buffer.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
Recognizes only isoforms of human Frataxin containing exon 4. On Western Blots of normal human muscle, heart, cerebellum, and spinal cord extracts, antibody recognizes a band migrating at ~18kD corresponding to processed human frataxin (Campuzano, 1997). Slight cross reactivity with myosin may be observed by Western Blot. Immunofluorescent labeling of HeLa cells with F6100 demonstrates that frataxin is predominantly localized in the mitochondria (Campuzano, 1997). Species Crossreactivity: mouse.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
