Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
Properties
Armenian of Syrian hamster monoclonal IgGs are useful antibodies for double staining your IHC samples. Using mabs or monoclonal antibodies has a lot of advantages for Flow cytometry.
Species reactivity
Mouse (Mus musculus); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
CD154 (Mouse CD40 ligand/gp39), Mr 39-kDa CD154, formerly known as CD40 ligand and gp39, is a type II integral membrane protein and a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family of ligands.^1-7 It is an important accessory molecule in T cell-B cell costimulatory interactions, and is expressed predominantly on activated CD4^+ T lymphocytes. It is also present on the surface of activated Th0, Th1, and Th2 T cell clones. Its expression is transient and cyclosporinsensitive. 6 The MR1 monoclonal antibody binds to murine CD154 with high affinity, blocks binding to CD40, and blocks CD154 function.^1, 5 Administration of this antibody to mice blocks the ability to mount primary and secondary immune responses to TD antigens, yet does not alter the immune response to TI antigens.^4; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
